A Three-Way Conversation

2012 • Dimensions variable • Blown Glass, Microphones, Sound Mixer, Speakers, Three People •

In an attempt to connect to other people within the city, these three glass globes act as communication amplifiers, equipped with microphones and speakers. Three people don globes and have a conversation with each other. All three of their microphones feed into the same speaker with is projecting sound to the outside city. In this way, all of the attempts for heightened communication counteract one another, resulting in the three speakers unable to hear anything other than their own words, while the passerby are confronted with a jumble of all three speakers.
